  TITLE OF BILL: An act to amend the general business law, in relation to establishment of the water-based fire protection licensure act, and providing for the repeal of certain provisions upon expiration thereof   TITLE OF BILL: An act to amend the general business law, in relation to establishment of the water-based fire protection licensure act, and providing for the repeal of certain provisions upon expiration thereof   PURPOSE OR GENERAL IDEA OF BILL: AN ACT to amend the general business law, in relation to establishment of the water-based fire protection licensure act, and providing for the repeal of certain provisions upon expiration thereof   SUMMARY OF PROVISIONS: Section 1: Designates this act as the "water-based fire protection licensure act" Section 2: Describes legislative intent, relating to ensuring and improving the quality of water-based fire prevention system installa- tions in New York. Section 3: Amends the general business law by adding new article 35-G. Creates definitions, requirements and regulations for water-based fire protection licensure. Section 4: Sets the effective date.   JUSTIFICATION: Congregation Ohav shalom is a tax exempt religious organization; this legislation enables the City of Albany's Assessor's office to treat them as such.   PRIOR LEGISLATIVE HISTORY: A7510 2019-20 A3272A 2021-22   FISCAL IMPLICATIONS FOR STATE AND LOCAL GOVERNMENTS: To be determined   EFFECTIVE DATE: This act shall take effect one year after it shall have become a law, provided, however that the provisions of section 759-k of the general business law as added by section three of this act shall expire one year after the effective date of this act when upon such date the provisions of such section shall be deemed repealed. Effective immediately, the addition, amendment and/or repeal of any rule or regulation necessary for the implementation of this act on its effective date are authorized to be made and completed on or before such effective date.
