Requires the public service commission to notify any municipality or government entity proposing to acquire title to and transfer ownership of the complete system of street light luminaires or fixtures, all supporting infrastructure, and associated electric circuitry of the health hazards, the lack of United States Food and Drug Administration regulation of light emitting diodes, "LED", lighting products, and the requirement that municipalities that operate LED street lights are required to publish an American with disabilities accommodation plan.

AN ACT to amend the public service law, in relation to street lights
The People of the State of New York, represented in Senate and Assem-bly, do enact as follows:
1 Section 1. Section 70-a of the public service law is amended by adding
2 a new subdivision 1-a to read as follows:
3 1-a. The commission shall notify any municipality or government entity
4 proposing to acquire title to and transfer ownership of the complete
5 system of street light luminaires or fixtures, all supporting infras-
6 tructure, and associated electric circuitry of the health hazards, of
7 the lack of United States Food and Drug Administration regulation of
8 light emitting diodes, "LED", lighting products, and the requirement
9 that municipalities that operate LED street lights are required to
10 publish an Americans with disabilities accommodation plan.
11 § 2. This act shall take effect immediately. Effective immediately,
12 the addition, amendment and/or repeal of any rule or regulation neces-
13 sary for the implementation of this act on its effective date are
14 authorized to be made and completed on or before such effective date.
