          tee on Transportation
 
        AN ACT to amend the vehicle and traffic law, in relation to  the  opera-
          tion of a motor vehicle by deaf or hard of hearing drivers
 
          The  People of the State of New York, represented in Senate and Assem-
        bly, do enact as follows:

     1    Section 1. The vehicle and traffic law is  amended  by  adding  a  new
     2  section 1229-e to read as follows:
     3    §  1229-e.  Operation  of  a  motor vehicle by deaf or hard of hearing
     4  drivers. No deaf or hard of hearing driver shall be required to  wear  a
     5  hearing  aid while operating a motor vehicle in this state provided that
     6  such deaf or hard of hearing driver's vehicle is equipped  with  a  full
     7  view mirror.
     8    § 2. This act shall take effect immediately.
