        Introduced  by  Sen.  ADAMS  -- read twice and ordered printed, and when
          printed to be committed to the Committee on Codes
 
        AN ACT to amend the penal law, in relation  to  the  sale  of  component
          parts of a pistol or firearm
 
          The  People of the State of New York, represented in Senate and Assem-
        bly, do enact as follows:
 

     1    Section 1. The penal law is amended by adding a new section 265.46  to
     2  read as follows:
     3  § 265.46 Sale of component parts of a pistol or firearm.
     4    1. Any merchant, manufacturer, firm, corporation, association or agent
     5  or employee thereof who offers for sale in this state any component part
     6  of  a  pistol  or firearm to any individual who does not possess a valid
     7  pistol permit shall be guilty of a class D felony.  The  component  part
     8  being purchased must be a component part to the pistol or firearm listed
     9  on the purchaser's valid pistol permit.
    10    2.  For  purposes of this section "firearm" or "pistol" means a weapon
    11  as defined in section 265.00 of this article.
    12    § 2. This act shall take effect on the ninetieth day  after  it  shall

    13  have become a law.
