AMEDORE -- read twice and ordered printed, and when printed to be committed to the Committee on Investigations and Govern- ment Operations -- recommitted to the Committee on Investigations and Government Operations in accordance with Senate Rule 6, sec. 8 -- committee discharged, bill amended, ordered reprinted as amended and recommitted to said committee AN ACT to amend the legislative law, in relation to imposing term limits for members of the assembly and senate of the state of New York The People of the State of New York, represented in Senate and Assem- bly, do enact as follows: 1 Section 1. The legislative law is amended by adding a new section 2-a 2 to read as follows: 3 § 2-a. Legislative term limits. Members of the legislature shall not 4 serve more than six two-year terms in either the senate or the assembly. 5 In no event may a legislator serve more than twelve years in either the 6 senate or assembly. 7 § 2.
