        Introduced  by Sen. HARCKHAM -- read twice and ordered printed, and when
          printed to be committed to the Committee on Codes
 
        AN ACT to amend the criminal procedure law,  in  relation  to  providing
          access  to  live  scan fingerprinting to society for the prevention of
          cruelty to animals officers

          The People of the State of New York, represented in Senate and  Assem-
        bly, do enact as follows:
 
     1    Section  1. Section 160.10 of the criminal procedure law is amended by
     2  adding a new subdivision 1-a to read as follows:
     3    1-a. Following an arrest by a society for the prevention of cruelty to
     4  animals officer, such officer shall be permitted access to the live scan
     5  fingerprinting system or similar technology in order to  effectuate  the
     6  completion  of  such  arrest independently and without the assistance of
     7  other law enforcement personnel.
     8    § 2. This act shall take effect on the one hundred eightieth day after
     9  it shall have become a law. Effective immediately, the addition,  amend-
    10  ment and/or repeal of any rule or regulation necessary for the implemen-
    11  tation  of  this act on its effective date are authorized to be made and
    12  completed on or before such effective date.
