Directs the department of agriculture and markets, in cooperation with NYSERDA, to produce and distribute guidance and educational materials for farmers on the use of agrivoltaics in farming no later than one year after chapter 629 of the laws of 2022 takes effect.

AN ACT to amend a chapter of the laws of 2022, directing the department
of agriculture and markets, in cooperation with the New York state
energy research and development authority, to develop and produce
guidance and educational materials on the use of agrivoltaics in farm-
ing, relating to cooperative extension offices and New York state soil
and water conservation districts
The People of the State of New York, represented in Senate and Assem-bly, do enact as follows:
1 Section 1. Subdivision (b) of section 2 of a chapter of the laws of
2 2022 directing the department of agriculture and markets, in cooperation
3 with the New York state energy research and development authority, to
4 develop and produce guidance and educational materials on the use of
5 agrivoltaics in farming, as proposed in legislative bills numbers S.
6 7861-A and A. 9336-A, is amended to read as follows:
7 (b) No later than [one hundred twenty days] one year after the effec-
8 tive date of this act, the guidance and educational materials developed
9 pursuant to paragraph (a) of this section shall be produced and distrib-
10 uted to cooperative extension offices located in the state and to New
11 York state soil and water conservation districts, and made available on
12 the websites of the department of agriculture and markets and the New
13 York state energy research and development authority.
14 § 2. This act shall take effect on the same date and in the same
15 manner as a chapter of the laws of 2022 directing the department of
16 agriculture and markets, in cooperation with the New York state energy
17 research and development authority, to develop and produce guidance and
18 educational materials on the use of agrivoltaics in farming, as proposed
19 in legislative bills numbers S. 7861-A and A. 9336-A, takes effect.
