Islanders Bring Goal to Albany

Assemblyman Lavine was pleased to welcome New York Islander icon Bobby Nystrom to the Capitol recently when Nystrom and fellow hockey players visited Albany to lobby state lawmakers for the elimination of the cap on 50/50 raffle prizes from not-for-profit organizations. Currently, such organizations must limit raffle prizes to $100,000; with the cap removed, they could raise larger sums, adding significantly to the coffers of the charities.
