Long Beach High School Student Visits Albany
March 28, 2012

The League of Women Voters of New York State hosted their Annual Students Inside Albany Conference on March 26th. The conference is an opportunity for high school students to expand their knowledge about participation in government. Elected officials are asked to allow a student to “shadow” them for an afternoon in Albany while the Legislature is in full session and other policy making activities are taking place.
Assemblyman Harvey Weisenberg was happy to participate in the mentoring program by spending part of the afternoon with Christy Fox, a Long Beach High School junior who was chosen by the League of Women Voters to participate. “It is inspiring to be able to spend part of my day with a young person from my Assembly District,” commented Weisenberg. “Christy is a bright young woman, and it was a pleasure to share part of my day with her.”
