Assemblyman Braunstein Announces Selection of Judith Chin as New Regent for Queens Judicial District 11

On March 10, 2015, Assemblyman Edward C. Braunstein (D-Bayside) announced the selection of Little Neck resident Judith Chin as the new Regent representing Queens.

“I was proud to support Little Neck resident Judith Chin, as she was selected as Regent for the Eleventh Judicial District in Queens by the New York State Legislature,” said Assemblyman Braunstein. “It was an honor to nominate Ms. Chin, who is a first generation Chinese-American, as the first Asian American Regent in New York State history. She has extensive experience in the field of education and has worked in nearly every level of the New York City Department of Education.”

“Ms. Chin, a product of the New York City school system, has received numerous awards in recognition of the work she has done on behalf of our school children,” said Assemblyman Braunstein. “She is undoubtedly a qualified candidate and I am confident that she will be an exemplary Regent.”

Ms. Chin has been a teacher, principal, regional and supervising superintendent, a Chief Executive Officer for Integrated Curriculum and Instruction for the Department of Education’s Learning Support Organization, and a Supervising Superintendent and Cluster Leader for the Division of School Support and Instruction. After 25 years in the Department of Education, Ms. Chin has continued her career as a strategic project developer for Columbia University’s Teachers College.
