"In 2014 the court of appeals of New York settled a split between the first and third departments about whether state employees have access to the court house in paid discrimination cases. The court of appeals agreed with the third department that although section 115 merely states New York's policy of equal pay for equal work, state employees don't have access to the court house," said Assemblymember Aravella Simotas speaking on the importance of equal pay.
