Millman Attends Annual Transit Garden Tree Lighting
December 11, 2007

Brooklyn – On Wednesday, December 5, Assemblywoman Joan Millman joined Carroll Gardens residents for the Annual Transit Garden Tree Lighting, located at Smith Street and 2nd Place. Students from the P.S. 58 String Chamber Orchestra played holiday songs as the tree was lit. P.S. 58 Principle, Vice Principle and staff also attended. Refreshments were generously provided for the students and their families and friends. The Transit Garden, which opened in the fall of 2006, contains community garden plots.
“Although it was snowing, many neighbors came out to light the tree and the P.S. 58 String Chamber Orchestra played beautifully,” said Millman. “I thank the MTA for donating the space for this garden – it truly was a wonderful way to start the holiday season.”
