Assemblywoman Joan Millman Celebrates Field Day at Prospect Park
June 13, 2008

Brooklyn – Friday, June 13, 2008 Assemblywoman Joan L. Millman celebrated the beginning of summer at a field day in Prospect Park. The event was funded through a New York State Member Item Grant from Assemblywoman Joan Millman to the Prospect Park Alliance.
Students from P.S. 8 and P.S. 29 participated in team-building activities, old-fashioned games such as potato sack races, rides on the carousel and a visit with Merlin, a rare Madagascar Boa Constrictor from the Brooklyn Children’s Museum. Assemblywoman Millman joined youngsters as they attempted to break a class record of keeping a ball aloft for the longest period of time possible.
“Field day was loads of fun and I’m glad I could help make this day possible by contributing state funding,” said Millman. “From riding the carousel to playing with the parachute to petting Merlin the snake, these kids were enjoying themselves.”
