Millman Honored by YAI Network
November 3, 2010
Brooklyn Assemblywoman Joan L. Millman was honored by the YAI Network, a provider of services for adults with disabilities and their families for over 50 years. A YAI residence located in the 52nd Assembly District held a ribbon cutting ceremony to celebrate the installation of new equipment and to thank Assemblywoman Millman. A state grant secured by Assemblywoman Millman helped the residence purchase a lift system. The lift system is invaluable in helping staff transport residents in and out of bed, chairs and bathroom facilities.
This YAI facility urgently needed the lift system, said Millman. I am glad to be able to secure state funding for the new equipment, which will help residents be more comfortable and staff be more efficient. I look forward to working with YAI in the future to ensure adults with disabilities can continue to be independent members of our community.
The YAI Network provides individuals with developmental and intellectual disabilities individualization, independence, inclusion and productivity through its various programs and community-based services. For more information about YAI, please visit their web site.
