Assemblywoman Millman cited the center as helping to narrow the ‘digital divide’ for elementary age school children. She praised the teacher, Robert Foster, for being available to the students who were engrossed in their computer activities.
Assemblywoman Millman, member of the Assembly Standing Committee on Education and a former educator, stressed the importance of early childhood education. “Children absorb the most at an early age which is why it is so important to have them learning these skills now. I know the basic computer skills taught in this lab will be utilized and built upon as these children get older. Overall it was wonderful to see children practicing their reading, math, and typing skills and helping one another learn how to use the computers.”
