Millman, Squadron, Levin Welcome Announcement of Regulation-Sized Field on Pier 5
March 1, 2012
Brooklyn – Today, Assemblywoman Joan Millman, State Senator Daniel Squadron, and Councilmember Stephen Levin released the following statement, welcoming the Brooklyn Bridge Park Corporation's announcement that it will build a regulation-sized soccer field on Pier 5:
We're pleased to welcome the announcement of a new regulation-sized field configuration on Pier 5.
The BBPC deserves credit for thinking creatively and working collaboratively on a solution that will make the park even more open and accessible to its users.
Along with the announcement of the pool for the next five summers, this is a big step forward for the park and the surrounding community. We look forward to continuing to work together on additional permanent active recreation, such as a pool, a skating rink, a bubble, and other community priorities.
