"The MTA tax is a burden on the counties. People don't like it. Businesses sometimes complain about it. But it took my good colleague here to come up with such a brilliant idea - share the funds, share the money. So that those who are paying maybe more than they should can get back a piece of it, a portion of it to help with the critical transportation needs that you face and those costs continue to rise," said Assemblymember Perry, who supports bill A-9725, which would require revenue in the MTA  trust account be paid directly to the chief financial officer of each respective county of the district to defray certain transportation, maintenance, and operation costs.
