"I have proposed A9332, which is supported by the Committee on Open Government, which would repeal Section 50-A of the Civil Rights Law. This law has been misinterpreted and has been blocking access to important government documents by our citizenry, mostly through the FOIL process. I had a bill to amend 50-A; [but the Committee on Open Government] said they want 50-A repealed, and so my bill 9332 fully repeals 50-A of the Civil Rights Law," Assembly Member O'Donnell said while explaining what A-9332 means for the Freedom Of Information Law.
