Assembly Member O’Donnell’s reading program, co-sponsored with the New York Public Library, is now underway and will continue through May 15th. Last year, hundreds of pre-K through 8th graders participated in this popular community event. Materials are available at the Bloomingdale, George Bruce and Morningside Heights library branches as well as Assembly Member O’Donnell’s community office.
The materials include reading lists and book review forms. All book reviews and drawings are posted on Assembly Member O’Donnell’s web site, and all readers will receive a certificate of acknowledgement from the New York State Assembly.
“This is one of the most important community events that I sponsor. Reading plays a critical role in a child’s education and development,” said Assembly Member O’Donnell. “I hope families and caregivers will participate in the challenge and encourage a lifelong love of reading.”
For more information about the program, please contact Assembly Member O’Donnell’s community office at 212-866-3970.
