Police Community Council for Public Housing Residents

On October 19, 2009, Assemblymember Brian Kavanagh’s Community Liaison Izzy Murguia attended a Community Council meeting for residents of the NYPD’s Police Service Area (PSA) 4, which encompasses all New York City Housing Authority developments on the Lower East Side. At the meeting, Captain Tom Hogan reported a 41 percent decrease in major crimes since last month and a 5 percent decrease in major crimes since this time last year.

PSA 4, in conjunction with the New York County District Attorney’s Office, will be presenting forums on Domestic Violence on October 22nd at 6pm at the Baruch Community Center located at 605 Roosevelt Drive and on October 29th at 11 am at Riis Community Center located at 80 Avenue D. Officers from PSA 4 reminded community members of safety tips for Halloween.
