Kavanagh Celebrates New Betty and Morton Yarmon Center for Healthy Aging
November 5, 2009
On November 5, 2009, Assemblymember Brian Kavanagh was a guest speaker at a special event celebrating the establishment of the Betty and Morton Yarmon Center for Healthy Aging at Beth Israel Medical Center. The new center is designed to offer programs and services to help older adults remain healthy, active, and engaged in their community. The Center is also intended to support expanded and positive relationships between healthcare providers and the community, and to foster coordinated access to preventive and specialty care. Addressing the crowd, which included benefactor and Beth Israel Trustee Betty Yarmon, Continuum Health Partners Chief Executive Officer Stanley Brezenoff, Interim Beth Israel President Doctor Harris Nagler – each of whom also offered brief remarks – and other Beth Israel physicians, nurses, and administrators, Kavanagh noted the tremendous desire many adults have to remain vital and active in their later years and applauded Mrs. Yarmon for helping Beth Israel remain faithful to its role as a full-service community hospital and for seeking to support healthy behaviors and lifestyles in the East Side community.
