After years of remaining dark throughout the holiday season, Assemblyman Jeffrey Dinowitz has helped get the Kingsbridge Christmas tree lit again.
The Kingsbridge Christmas tree is located at Van Cortlandt’s Tail on Broadway just south of Van Cortlandt Park South. For years the tree was decorated with lights for the Christmas season, however the recent years have left the tree unlit.
A constituent adorned with the Christmas spirit recently came to the Assemblyman’s office requesting assistance in having the tree illuminated this year. She even offered to donate the lights. Several telephone calls later to the Parks Department, confirmed that the tree would shine bright this holiday season.
"I am happy to help get the Kingsbridge Christmas tree lit again this year. This tree was permanently planted at Van Cortlandt’s Tail a few years ago with the assumption that it would be decorated each Christmas season. I commend the Parks Department for their cooperation in helping the residents of Kingsbridge celebrate Christmas," said Dinowitz.
