"This bill prohibits employers from relying on salary or wage history in determining the wages or salary of a prospective employee. It prohibits employers from requesting, requiring, or seeking a current or prospective employee's salary history as a condition of employment, to receive an interview, or to offer employment or promotion," said Assemblyman Crespo as he introduced legislation that would reduce the wage gap between men and women by prohibiting employers from seeking salary history from prospective employees.
