NYC Housing Authority Renames Bronxdale Houses as Justice Sonia Sotomayor Houses in Soundview.
June 4, 2010

Today, the New York City Housing Authority renamed Bronxdale Houses as Justice Sonia Sotomayor Houses. During the ceremony, Supreme Court Justice Sotomayor shared her memories and experiences growing up in Bronxdale Houses and accepted this honor with great humility.
As the NYS Assemblyman representing Soundview and the newly named Justice Sonia Sotomayor Houses, I am proud that our community will have these homes named after the first Hispanic, Puerto Rican woman to be appointed a Justice of the United States Supreme Court. Her career, achievements and legacy will forever be an inspiration to current and future generations that all dreams are attainable.
God Bless Justice Sotomayor, the residents of Justice Sonia Sotomayor Houses, The Bronx and the Country.
