Assemblymember McDonald Takes Oath for Second Term

Albany, N.Y. – Assemblymember John T. McDonald III and members of the Capital Region Legislative Delegation, were sworn into office on December 29, 2014 in the Assembly Chambers before family, friends and colleagues. Assemblymember McDonald was sworn into his second term as Member of Assembly for the 108th district by former Assembly Majority Leader Ron Canestrari, who has been a lifelong friend and mentor. Congressman Paul Tonko, Senator Neil Breslin, and Assemblymembers Patricia Fahy, Angelo Santabarbara, and Phil Steck were also sworn into their respective offices during the ceremony.

Assemblymember McDonald represents parts of Albany, Rensselaer, and Saratoga Counties, specifically the communities of Cohoes, Green Island, Watervliet, North Greenbush, Rensselaer, Waterford, and parts of Troy and Albany. His current Assembly Committee assignments include Aging, Cities, Local Governments, Mental Health & Developmental Disabilities, Real Property Taxation and Tourism, Parks, Arts, & Sports Development.

In addition to representing the 108th Assembly District, John is a practicing pharmacist and president of Marra’s Pharmacy, a successful family-owned business which has been in existence for more than 80 years based in Cohoes.
