Lupardo Requests Meeting of High-Volume Hydraulic Fracturing Advisory Panel

Wants to discuss health review

Albany – Assemblywoman Donna Lupardo (D-Endwell) sent a letter to Department of Environmental Conservation (DEC) Commissioner Joe Martens yesterday requesting that he convene a meeting of the High Volume Hydraulic Fracturing Advisory (HVHF) panel, of which she is member.

In addition to a briefing regarding the recently released rulemaking document, Lupardo cited several questions she would like to discuss, including those related to the scope of the health experts’ review and how their review differs from a full health impact assessment. She also asked whether they will consider the concerns expressed by county health officials in their Jan. 12, 2012 report to the HVHF panel.
