Lifton: Tompkins and Cortland Counties to Receive Increased Aid Under Assembly’s Budget
March 29, 2005
"The Assembly and Senate are on track to have the first on-time budget in 20 years by today passing budget bills that include increases in municipal aid for our community. In the 125th Assembly District, the budget will increase last year’s municipal aid levels by $168,378 for Cortland County and $324,417 for Tompkins County. This money will help provide police and fire protection, sanitation and other vital services. I will continue to work hard to pass a budget that is responsible and preserves the services working families count on, while keeping property taxes down."
