"In New York State in general, but in Central New York in particular, workforce development is going to be a big issue. We still have lots of companies looking for new employees, but they just don't have the skillsets needed for the jobs that are available. We're investing money, and have done it over the last two or three years, to try to bring people up to speed, and it's starting to work. Hopefully the future is going to be bright for Central New York," stated Assemblymember Al Stirpe, Chair of the Subcommittee on Export Trade, reacting to Governor Andrew Cuomo's 2018 State of the State address.
