July is Park and Recreation Month, making it the perfect time to get out and experience all our community has to offer. This year’s theme is “OUT is IN,” and there are many ways that you and your family can step outside and spend quality time together – without breaking the bank – right here in Central New York.¹

There are few better ways to spend a summer evening with friends and family than attending an all-American baseball game. As the Triple-A affiliate of the Washington Nationals and 8-time Governors’ Cup winners, the Syracuse Chiefs bring professional baseball right to our backyard. And, after a slow start this season, the team has worked hard, gelled and played their way to first place in the International League. So consider taking a trip to NBT Bank Stadium with your family to cheer on the next Roy Halladay or Bryce Harper, and watch as your hometown team goes for its ninth championship.

We’re lucky to have one of the finest minor league baseball facilities in the nation to host our local team. NBT Bank Stadium combines a classic feel with modern amenities and offers great deals on tickets and special events for the whole family. So whether you come to NBT Bank Stadium to watch the Chiefs, to enjoy a summer concert or a special holiday event, or even to watch a spectacular fireworks show after the game, you’ll have a great time with your family.

The Chiefs will face Lehigh Valley on their home field at 5 p.m. this weekend, July 19 and 20. It will also be “Family Sunday,” and kids 12 and under will not only get in for free but will also have the chance to run the bases after the game.
