Assemblyman McDonough And Senator Fuschillo Congratulate Freeport Resident On Being Crowned Miss Senior New York

Assemblyman David G. McDonough and state Sen. Charles J. Fuschillo, Jr. (8th Senate District) recently met with Freeport resident Kay Hill to congratulate her on being crowned Ms. Senior New York America. She is the fourth consecutive contestant from Long Island to win the state title.

“Kay’s spirit and talent serve as an inspiration to us all, and it is my pleasure to congratulate her on this special achievement,” said Assemblyman McDonough.

The Ms. Senior America pageant is an annual event designed to showcase the talents and inner beauty of women ages 60 and over. Contestants are judged in four categories: interview, philosophy of life, gown presentation and talent. Kay captured the state title this past April, singing a medley of “Is you or is you ain’t my baby” and “I got it bad.”

In addition to being Ms. Senior New York America, Kay has performed in her own cabaret showcase in Manhattan and worked for the New York Times for 27 years before retiring in 2001. Kay and her husband, Norman, reside in Freeport. They have three children and are also proud grandparents.

Kay will next travel to Las Vegas in November as a national finalist to compete for the title of Ms. Senior America.
