Assemblyman David G. McDonough (R,C,I-Merrick) is reminding local residents and businesses affected by Hurricane Sandy that applications for disaster assistance from the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) must be submitted by Monday, December 31. Federal disaster assistance may help eligible applicants with disaster-related expenses and serious needs. “Hurricane Sandy has had a crippling effect on our community and the lives of residents across Long Island,” said McDonough. “As we work to rebuild, it is important for residents and businesses that have been negatively impacted by the storm to receive the appropriate funds, which they need and deserve. Federal disaster assistance is essential to get Long Island back to normal.
