Assemblymember Barrett on Charter’s Broken Promises to Deliver Broadband

“For the second time in just three months, Charter Communications has failed to reach the promised benchmarks and connect waiting customers to high speed internet. Residents of my district in Charter's footprint are tired of the delays and excuses, and at this rate it's hard to imagine that Charter will meet the December 31 state-mandated deadline. Charter's lack of transparency and pattern of doublespeak and misinformation over the two years since their merger led my office to request an audit of Charter's broadband progress and the enforcement of the merger agreement by State Comptroller Tom DiNapoli. We are pleased that the Comptroller shares these concerns and that his office will be conducting an audit.”
