At a press conference in Albany, Assemblyman Thiele called for passage of legislation he is sponsoring that would increase the time for reconsideration for parole of violent felons from 2-years to 5-years.  "What we are talking about here with this legislation is the existing law in New York where no matter what, a criminal, a felon is entitled to a parole hearing every 24 months…Every 2-years the families of victims have to go through this parole process and we want to change that," said Thiele.  A1680
