Queens, NY – Assemblywoman Nily Rozic (D,WF-Fresh Meadows), Council Member James Gennaro (D- Queens), and Senator John Liu (D-Flushing) partnered with NYC Department of Environmental Protection (DEP) for their annual Rain Barrel Giveaway event. The elected officials partnered with the Lower East Side Ecology Center for the E-Waste Collection Event at the Israel Center of Conservative Judaism in Fresh Meadows. This annual event garnered tremendous community support, resulting in 9,815 pounds of donated electronics by 173 households and the distribution of 196 rain barrels. The event celebrated the power of collective action in fostering environmental consciousness and a greener future for Queens.
