Assemblyman Phil Palmesano (R,C,I – Corning) met recently at the state Capitol with students, teachers and administrators from several area schools, including Hornell, Arkport, Avoca, Canaseraga and Canisteo-Greenwood. The group was in Albany to advocate for increased state education aid for rural and small-city school districts. Palmesano has been an outspoken advocate for making education aid more equitable in order to ensure that students from every region of our state, especially the Southern Tier and Finger Lakes regions, receive the education they need to succeed in a 21st century economy.
