Palmesano Welcomes Local Veteran to Assembly Floor

Assemblyman Phil Palmesano (R,C,I-Corning) recently welcomed local veteran Carrie Ahearn of Penn Yan to the Capitol during her recent visit to Albany. Ahearn was in Albany for Assemblywoman Pamela Hunter’s Women Veterans Luncheon and Recognition Ceremony.

Ahearn enjoyed a distinguished career of service in the U.S. Air Force from 1989-1997. Currently, she serves our community in the critical role of Veterans Service Officer for Yates County Veteran Services Agency.

“Carrie Ahearn’s life is a testament to the power of service,” said Palmesano. “Through her career in the Air Force and through her advocacy for her fellow veterans, she’s set a lofty example for all of us. I’m so appreciative for her visit and I’m grateful for her service to our community and to our nation,” said Palmesano.

Ahearn is also a notable entrepreneur in her community. She and her husband Sean purchased the Penn Yan Diner in 2012, protecting its legacy as a quaint, small-town eatery for a new generation of diners.
