2023 Local Landmarks and Landscapes Art Exhibit Planned
Barclay Hosts Fourth Annual Show in Partnership with the Greater Oswego-Fulton Chamber of Commerce
Artists from the 120th Assembly District are once again invited to participate in Assembly Minority Leader Will Barclay’s annual Local Landmarks and Landscapes visual art exhibit. This is the fourth annual exhibit designed to showcase the district’s local talent, historic landmarks and natural beauty. This year’s show will be juried in partnership with the Greater Oswego-Fulton Chamber of Commerce and feature prizes from local restaurants for Best in Show and Honorable Mentions in both adult and youth categories.
“We have some of the finest waterways, unique landmarks, incredible landscapes, farmlands and parks. The artists who participate have such a talent for capturing these features and it is always inspiring to see the pieces they create. I am thrilled to partner with the chamber and local restaurants, and I look forward to meeting our local artists once again at the opening,” said Leader Barclay.
Watercolors, photography, original prints, pen and ink, acrylic, pencil, charcoal and other mediums that showcase the district’s natural beauty and history will be accepted for the show. Artists who participate should include contact information and a brief description of the work.
The 120th Assembly District includes Oswego County; the Cayuga County towns of Ira, Sterling and Victory; and the Jefferson County towns of Adams, Ellisburg, Lorraine and Worth. A map can be viewed at https://nyassembly.gov/mem/William-A-Barclay/office/.
Submissions are due by Monday, Oct. 16 to Leader Barclay’s office at 19 Canalview Mall, in Fulton. This show is done in partnership with several local art associations including CNY Community Arts, Salmon River Fine Arts Center, Fulton Art Association, Sterling Nature Center, Fair Haven Community Arts Center, Art Association of Oswego, Inc. and Lakeside Artisans. Members may also submit artwork to their respective associations. Any other art organizations that wish to participate can reach out to Leader Barclay’s District Office at 315-598-5185.
An art opening will be held on Friday, Oct. 20 from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at CNY Community Arts Center, 121 Cayuga St., Fulton. The public is invited to attend.
