Statement From Assembly Minority Leader Brian M. Kolb (R,C,I,Ref-Canandaigua) On Executive Budget Proposal
"The Governor should have stood up today, front and center, and told every New Yorker how he plans to spend $150 billion of their money. Instead, he spent the day in his mansion.
Since this Governor took office, the budget-making process has insulted open government and transparency. He has shut out minority conferences from all discussions. He has moved negotiations away from the Capitol. Today, he reached an entirely new low.
The final 2017-18 State Budget must be responsible, intelligent and effective. Unfortunately, the Governor's presentation of his plan was anything but."
