Assembly Minority Leader Brian M. Kolb (R,C-Canandaigua) and Assembly Speaker Carl Heastie joined their Assembly colleagues yesterday, May 29, in Albany at the annual Legislative Disabilities Awareness Day. This event, held in the Well of the Legislative Office Building, is a day that highlights the issues and triumphs of the disability community, their families and advocates.

Every year, the legislative body recognizes one individual who has made strong contributions to the disability community by honoring them with the Dr. Henry Viscardi Jr. Advocacy Award. This year, the award was given to Barbara Crosier, vice president for Government Relations at Cerebral Palsy Association of New York State (pictured above with Leader Kolb), who has dedicated her life to improving the lives of people with disabilities across New York State.
