Statement from Assembly Minority Leader Will Barclay

“Former Assemblyman Richard Brodsky was a passionate advocate for those he represented and fought vigorously to defend the principles upon which he built his lengthy and distinguished political career. His recent passing is a tragic loss for the State of New York and for the many institutions Richard gave so much of his time and energy to strengthen and improve.

Richard’s understanding of complex policy issues and his ability to articulate his position were things many lawmakers and politicians aspire toward. His tenacity and spirit were laudable and those who knew him well could attest to his unyielding dedication to improving the state he loved. I am truly saddened by his passing and offer my sincerest condolences to his wife and two children.”
