        AN ACT to amend the public authorities law, in relation to allowing  two
          automatic free transfers for riders using pay-per-ride Metrocards
 
          The  People of the State of New York, represented in Senate and Assem-
        bly, do enact as follows:
 
     1    Section 1. Section 1266 of the public authorities law  is  amended  by
     2  adding a new subdivision 3-b to read as follows:
     3    3-b.  Notwithstanding  any other provision of law, the authority shall
     4  establish a fare transfer policy that may be amended from time to  time.

     5  Such  policy  shall  provide  any person who pays a fare or rate with at
     6  least two transfers at no cost between any subway and  bus,  or  between
     7  buses that are owned and operated by the authority. Such transfers shall
     8  be  valid  for two hours from the time such fare or rate is collected by
     9  the authority at a transit facility.
    10    § 2. This act shall take effect immediately.
