        AN  ACT to amend the public authorities law, in relation to training for

          conductors  and  motor  persons  of  the  metropolitan  transportation
          authority
 
          The  People of the State of New York, represented in Senate and Assem-
        bly, do enact as follows:
 
     1    Section 1. The public authorities law  is  amended  by  adding  a  new
     2  section 1266-i to read as follows:
     3    § 1266-i. Emergency training for conductors and motor persons.  1. Any
     4  person  who  works  as a conductor or motor person for an entity that is
     5  subject to the provisions of this  title  is  required  to  successfully
     6  complete  at least eight hours of training annually in evacuation proce-
     7  dures for emergency situations.
     8    2. The commissioner of transportation shall establish  the  guidelines
     9  regarding what information must be included in such training classes.

    10    §  2.  This  act  shall  take  effect  on  the first of September next
    11  succeeding the date on which it  shall  have  become  a  law,  provided,
    12  however,  that  effective immediately the commissioner of transportation
    13  shall create the curriculum for the training classes  required  pursuant
    14  to section one of this act.
