L. ROSENTHAL -- read once and referred to the Committee on Health AN ACT to amend the public health law, in relation to requiring regu- lations mandating home care service workers to receive biennial CPR training The People of the State of New York, represented in Senate and Assem- bly, do enact as follows: 1 Section 1. The public health law is amended by adding a new section 2 3604 to read as follows: 3 § 3604. Mandatory cardiopulmonary resuscitation training. The commis- 4 sioner shall promulgate regulations requiring home care service workers 5 providing home care services under this article to receive biennial 6 cardiopulmonary resuscitation training and certification. The rules and 7 regulations shall require such training and certifications to be main- 8 tained as current pursuant to the requirements established by the Ameri- 9 can Red Cross or the American Heart Association. 10 § 2. This act shall take effect on the ninetieth day after it shall 11 have become a law. EXPLANATION--Matter in italics (underscored) is new; matter in brackets [] is old law to be omitted. LBD03323-01-9
