        AN ACT to amend the vehicle and traffic  law,  in  relation  to  funeral
          processions
 
          The  People of the State of New York, represented in Senate and Assem-
        bly, do enact as follows:
 
     1    Section 1. The vehicle and traffic law is  amended  by  adding  a  new
     2  section 1144-b to read as follows:
     3    §  1144-b.  Operation  of a vehicle; yielding to a funeral procession.
     4  (a) The driver of a vehicle approaching a funeral procession,  which  is
     5  marked  by placards identifying a vehicle as such, shall yield the right
     6  of way to such procession.
     7    (b) Failure to yield to a funeral procession, or to  otherwise  inter-
     8  rupt such procession with a vehicle, shall be penalized by a two hundred
     9  dollar fine and one point on such drivers' license.
    10    § 2. This act shall take effect immediately.
