        Introduced  by M. of A. RABBITT -- read once and referred to the Commit-
          tee on Governmental Employees  --  recommitted  to  the  Committee  on
          Governmental  Employees  in accordance with Assembly Rule 3, sec. 2 --
          committee discharged, bill amended, ordered reprinted as  amended  and
          recommitted to said committee
 

        AN ACT to authorize Michael Wilson to take the competitive civil service
          examination  and  be  placed on the eligible list for appointment as a
          full-time police officer for the village of Goshen, county of Orange
 
          The People of the State of New York, represented in Senate and  Assem-
        bly, do enact as follows:
 
     1    Section  1.  Notwithstanding the provisions of section 58 of the civil
     2  service law, or any other law to the contrary, Michael Wilson,  who  has
     3  been  continuously  employed  by the village of Goshen, in the county of
     4  Orange, as a part-time patrolman, shall be eligible to take the  compet-
     5  itive  civil  service examination for the position of police officer and
     6  shall, contingent upon his score on such examination, be eligible to  be
     7  placed on the eligible list for appointment as a full-time patrolman for
     8  the village of Goshen.

     9    §  2.  Michael  Wilson  shall  otherwise  be  subject to the merit and
    10  fitness provisions of the civil  service  law  applicable  to  full-time
    11  police officers.
    12    § 3. This act shall take effect immediately.
