        Introduced  by  M. of A. CAMARA, CASTRO, BARRON, TITONE -- read once and
          referred to the Committee on Economic Development
 
        AN ACT to amend the New York state urban development corporation act, in
          relation to the establishment of an African-American and  African-Car-
          ibbean business development center
 

          The  People of the State of New York, represented in Senate and Assem-
        bly, do enact as follows:
 
     1    Section 1. Section 1 of chapter 174 of the laws of 1968,  constituting
     2  the  New  York  state  urban  development corporation act, is amended by
     3  adding a new section 9-g to read as follows:
     4    § 9-g. Creating an  African-American  and  African-Caribbean  business
     5  development  center.  The corporation shall provide, with the assistance
     6  of the commissioner of economic development  and  in  consultation  with
     7  such  commissioner,  an  African-American and African-Caribbean business
     8  development center for the purposes of  rendering  technical  assistance
     9  and  market  information  to  not-for-profit  service  providers and the

    10  private  businesses  servicing  African-American  and  African-Caribbean
    11  communities.
    12    § 2. This act shall take effect immediately.
