        Introduced  by M. of A. TITONE, MALLIOTAKIS -- read once and referred to
          the Committee on Cities
 
        AN ACT to amend the public authorities law, in relation to  providing  a
          discount for senior citizens in the city of New York for such persons'
          water bills
 
          The  People of the State of New York, represented in Senate and Assem-

        bly, do enact as follows:
 
     1    Section 1. Section 1045-j of the public authorities law is amended  by
     2  adding a new subdivision 3-a to read as follows:
     3    3-a.  Notwithstanding any other law, the water board may provide a ten
     4  percent discount for all senior citizens from the  fee,  rate,  rent  or
     5  other  charge established pursuant to this section. For purposes of this
     6  subdivision, "senior citizen" shall mean a resident of the city  who  is
     7  age  sixty-five or older. The water board may promulgate rules and regu-
     8  lations necessary to carry out the purposes of this subdivision.
     9    § 2. This act shall take effect on the one hundred eightieth day after
    10  it shall have become a law.
