        AN  ACT  to  amend the vehicle and traffic law, in relation to requiring

          verbal warnings to be issued  prior  to  the  issuance  of  a  parking
          violation
 
          The  People of the State of New York, represented in Senate and Assem-
        bly, do enact as follows:
 
     1    Section 1. The vehicle and traffic law is  amended  by  adding  a  new
     2  section 1202-a to read as follows:
     3    § 1202-a. Verbal warning prior to parking violation. No motor vehicle,
     4  occupied  by  one  or  more persons, shall be issued a parking violation
     5  unless a verbal warning has first been issued by a member of the  police
     6  department,  fire  department,  the  department of transportation or any
     7  other officer or entity designated with  the  authority  to  issue  such
     8  violations.
     9    §  2.  This  act  shall take effect on the sixtieth day after it shall
    10  have become a law.
