        AN ACT to amend the elder law, in relation to designated agencies in the
          city of Yonkers
 
          The People of the State of New York, represented in Senate and  Assem-
        bly, do enact as follows:
 

     1    Section  1. Paragraph (a) of subdivision 1 of section 214 of the elder
     2  law is amended to read as follows:
     3    (a) "Designated agency" shall mean an agency which  is  designated  by
     4  the  chief executive officer of the county if there be one, or otherwise
     5  the governing board of such county, or the chief  executive  officer  of
     6  the  city  of New York or the city of Yonkers, or the governing board of
     7  an Indian tribal council; which is either a unit of county government or
     8  the city of New York or an Indian tribal organization or a private  non-
     9  profit agency, and which is the area agency on aging created pursuant to
    10  the federal older Americans act of 1965.
    11    § 2.  This act shall take effect immediately.
