          PHEFFER,  TOWNS, WEISENBERG -- read once and referred to the Committee
          on Environmental Conservation
 
        AN ACT to amend the  environmental  conservation  law,  in  relation  to

          prohibiting trapping for sport in New York state
 
          The  People of the State of New York, represented in Senate and Assem-
        bly, do enact as follows:
 
     1    Section 1. Section 11-1101 of the environmental  conservation  law  is
     2  amended by adding a new subdivision 13 to read as follows:
     3    13.  No  person  who owns, operates or manages a facility that harbors
     4  fox, otter, beaver or muskrat for trapping shall  knowingly  permit  the
     5  taking  on  such premises by any person who pays a fee to take such live
     6  animals by trapping for sport.
     7    § 2. This act shall take effect on the thirtieth day  after  it  shall
     8  have become a law.
